How tyre cost per kilometre is calculated

Cost per km is the single number fleet customers ask for: "What is this tyre actually costing me?" Add up the full lifecycle cost of the tyre — purchase, fitment, and casing or retread where they apply — then divide by the distance the tyre achieved:

total tyre cost ÷ distance achieved (km) = cost per km

This calculator follows the same lifecycle model TreadOS uses: a tyre keeps its identity across its life, and old and new tyre cost data are never blended. For a removed tyre, the distance achieved is the odometer at removal minus the odometer at install.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate tyre cost per kilometre?
Add the tyre's lifecycle cost — purchase, fitment and any casing or retread — then divide by the distance it achieved in kilometres.
What counts as the total tyre cost?
Purchase cost plus fitment, and casing or retread cost where they apply. Old and new tyre costs should never be blended together.
How do I get the distance achieved for a removed tyre?
Subtract the odometer reading at install from the odometer reading at removal. That frozen distance gives the actual cost per km.

Know cost per km for every tyre — automatically

TreadOS calculates cost per kilometre from the actual tyre lifecycle — purchase, fitment, casing and the real distance each tyre ran — so you never guess again.
