Wear rate is mm of tread lost per 1,000 km. A forecast only appears when distance used and tread used are both above zero and current tread is above the minimum — otherwise it shows “Unknown”.

How fleet tyre forecasting works

Forecasting tells you which tyres need budgeting first. From the tread worn so far and the distance covered, you get a wear rate; from the tread remaining above the legal minimum, you get the distance left; and from the fleet's monthly kilometres, you get a run-out date:

wear rate = tread used ÷ distance used · remaining km = (current tread − minimum) ÷ wear rate · run-out odometer = current odometer + remaining km

This free tool forecasts the tyres you enter. TreadOS does it automatically for the whole fleet from real inspection history — wear rate, remaining tread and projected replacement date for every wheel, with alerts before tyres reach the minimum.

Frequently asked questions

How is tyre wear rate calculated?
Divide the tread worn so far (starting tread minus current tread) by the distance covered since fitment. That gives millimetres of wear per kilometre.
When will a tyre reach minimum tread?
Divide the tread remaining above the minimum by the wear rate to get the distance left, then convert it to a date using the fleet's monthly kilometres.
Why does a tyre show “Unknown”?
A forecast only appears when distance used and tread used are both above zero and current tread is above the minimum — otherwise the tool will not guess.

Forecasts that build themselves

TreadOS forecasts tyre run-out automatically from real inspection history — wear rate, remaining tread and projected replacement date for every wheel in the fleet.
